A cost-effective, cold-formed steel (CFS) proprietary floor joist system ideally suited for the commercial and residential construction markets. NUJOIST combines the strength and consistency of a standard C-Shaped joist with the flexibility of pre-punched, reinforced access holes to greatly improve system installation time and architectural flexibility. Plumbing, HVAC, electrical and other technology services can be installed within the floor system improving ease of installation while maintaining structural integrity.
Along with our sister company, Vulcraft, Nuconsteel is proud to offer our steel floor system solutions. Nucor's Vulcraft is the largest producer of steel joists and steel deck products in the United States. With seven facilities located in South Carolina, Nebraska, Alabama, Texas, Indiana, Utah and New York, Vulcraft’s current annual capacity in producing steel joists and joist girders is more than 685,000 tons.
Six of Nucor's Vulcraft facilities also produce steel deck - South Carolina, Nebraska, Alabama, Texas, Indiana and New York. Current annual capacity of these plants in steel deck production is approximately 430,000 tons.
The Nucor-Vulcraft Ecospan Composite Floor System is an innovative, simple, effective, and economical method of providing all steel, open web structural components for elevated floor construction while incorporating the benefits of lighter weight composite design. This floor system is ideally suited for the mid-rise commercial and residential construction markets, such as hospitality, senior/assisted living, institutional and multi-family. The Ecospan floor system works very well with load-bearing, cold-formed steel wall framing and is also compatible with other structural support systems.
